A Season Of Shutdowns? University Of Ibadan Closed Indefinitely As Students Protest

The continued shutdown of our institutions of learning is becoming quite cynical. The latest university to catch the indefinite closure virus is the University of Ibadan.
The reason for U.I's closure is not far-fetched and no different from that of Unilag's which occurred over students’ refusal to continue living in squalid conditions without electricity and portable water in the halls of residence.

Question is, are Nigerian students demanding too much from the school authorities when they ask for water to bathe and electricity to study?

How do they expect students to read and perform well when no one can concentrate because of his neighbour’s body odour, lack of sleep and general discomfort?

The cynicism from school authorities is getting too much in this country! Sigh
