What is the by-product of wood that can be gathered to generate electricity in Ogun State? It's sawdust! The Ogun state government has resolved to tackle the lack of power hampering the gateway land's growth by turning to sawdust for the solution.
Commissioner for Forestry, Chief Kolawole Lawal, stated this during a visit to sawmills in Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu-East LGA of the state. The state authorities are currently carrying out feasibility studies on the project already.
Should Ogun state pull 'Project Sawdust' off, the wood by-product would cease to be waste but a genuine raw material for power generation.
So next time you see sawdust, be thrilled because you're looking at power in its raw form.
