I.G Of Police Orders Arrest Of Black Market Petrol Dealers

Solomon Arase

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase has given a directive to officers of the police force to arrest anybody found selling petroleum products in plastic containers.

Arase explained that the order became imperative following untold suffering and hazard emanating from the activities of the black marketers. He said the act has led to fire outbreaks, thereby rendering many people homeless.

Arase spoke through force spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, in a statement in Abuja yesterday.

We have heard! I wonder how we will continue to live like this since we have no power supply and no petrol to run our small generators. We will survive somehow!
