President Buhari And Senators Set For Showdown Over Protracted 2016 Budget Impasse

The 2016 budget impasse is finally back on the front-burner for the executive and legislature as President Buhari and the senators are set to finally thrash out the grey areas preventing the appropriation bill from sailing through.
While both arms of government were busy shadow-boxing over the document, national economic life was slowly grinding to a halt, a situation which must have prompted the gladiators to sheath their swords in order to find a solution to the budget issue.

Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure over the bleak and brutish life they've been subjected to under the Buhari administration and it appears Mr President got the hint. Hence the need to have showdown talks with the obstinate legislature.

You will recall that both arms of government instead of having a smooth working relationship on the proposed 2016 fiscal document resorted to a beer-parlour melee instead.

The result is a topsy-turvy economic life that has seen Nigerians grinding their teeth and letting off bursts of curses at both the executive and legislature.

We hope for a quick resolution as the battle between these two elephants is making the grass (the masses) suffer indeed.
