Update: Herdsmen Crisis: Bloodbath In Enugu As Marauding Herdsmen Kill 40

Fleeing villagers

We reported earlier that Fulani herdsmen killed 20. It appears the figure is above 40. Please read -
It is beginning to look like there is more to this marauding herdsmen issue than meets the eye as reports hitting the airwaves revealed another bloody attack on a community in Enugu state. The latest bloodbath took place in Nimbo community (seven villages namely; Nimbo Ngwoko, Ugwuijoro, Ekwuru, Ebor, Enugu Nimbo, Umuome and Ugwuachara) where the body count reached an incredible 40 people.

10 houses and a church, Christ Holy Church International, were also said to have been burnt, just as vehicles and motorcycles were destroyed amongst other valuables. It was reported that survivors of the attack are fleeing in massive droves for their dear lives.

We hope the relevant authorities are putting urgent measures in place to bring these murderous marauders to book and curtail their movements. We hope for restoration of calm soon.

May the departed rest in perfect peace.
