Blackout In Nigeria Worsens As Shiroro And Sapele Power Plants Are Shut

Electricity? Buy a generator!

Nigeria's electricity woes worsen as two additional power generating plants were shut down on Wednesday, April 7th. Bringing the total number of plants not generating any megawatts of electricity to ten.

The shut plants are Shiroro Power Station in Niger State and the Sapele II in Delta State.

Shiroro, was shut down for repairs and maintenance, while the Sapele II was due to work by the Nigerian Gas Company at the gas station and as a result of gas constraints, overhaul, among other reasons.

Shiroro's power capacity was put at 600MW and Sapele II was put at 225MW.
There are eight other power plants currently not generating any Megawatts of electricity due to various reasons.
