J.C. Penney's side slit pencil skirt has been gaining a lot of attention lately, after the floral print on the skirt was interpreted as a period stain and dubed 'the period skirt'.

The skirt in question is a Worthington Side Slit Pencil Skirt, retailing on the company's website for $23.99.
J.C Penney addressed the issue with a tweet on their twitter handle which read...

 "We think it's a fab skirt for any time of the month. Period"
